Bruiser

We got Bruiser because he could not be controlled by his owners. He was basically chained up 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And they wondered was he was constantly misbehaving. Since joining our pack he has quietened down although still boisterous, he does try and curb his exsuberance when playing with the little ones.

Boomer

Boomer was the reason we started Our K9. Boomer has undeveloped lungs and sometimes has real problems breathing, so when he barked it would trigger. So we needed to get a very small bark collar that was pain-free, we couldn't find one, so 5 years ago we designed and built our own. This is Boomer wearing the first-ever collar we made.

Bert

Bert was another medical reject. Bert has hip dysplasia, which means that his hip joints just pop out. And to make matters worse, Bert loves to spin around in circles when he gets excited. It is really hard to tell him not to get excited as to him it is so much fun. But the pain he has to suffer really is heartbreaking. Over the last few months, Bert's hips have remained strong and we had had no problems with his hips popping out.

Billy

Where we live we have a 2 meter Brick wall surrounding the whole property, so the dogs cannot get out and none can get in. Or so we thought. Imagine our surprise one morning when we found this really tiny puppy in our garden. Billy was about 2 - 3 weeks old when we assume some idiot threw her over the wall. She is an absolute lick machine, doesn't stop, no matter how many times you say No... She just has to do it...

Biscuit

Biscuit was the runt of the litter and was going to be 'put down'. Biscuit is a typical Jack Russel, hunting and searching all the time. He is also the peace keeper in the pack, intervening whenever he thinks that play is getting too boisterous, even when the much bigger dogs are involved. He has a bark that is MUCH LOUDER than you can imagine. So when he barks everyone stops and takes notice.

Cee Cee

Poor little Cee Cee spent her first fours years locked up in a cage only slightly bigger than her. She had been born in the puppy mill and was going to die in the puppy mill. WVS managed to intervene and we were delighted to give Cee Cee a new home. Cee Cee is so typical of why we love dogs so much. Four years of brutal cruelty and she just forgives and gives love in return. She also loves getting grubby...

Henry

Henry & Teddy came as a joint deal. Their owner booked an appointment at the vets for a check-up. And never returned to pick them up. They asked the vet to look after them until they return. ONE YEAR LATER the Vet decided only then to rehome them. So they both spent a year in a cage in the vets. They are brothers, Henry being 6 years old and Teddy being 4 years old. Henry likes a little bit of affection But Teddy demands it...

Cutie Pie

This adorable little bundle was a real mess when we got her. She was malnourished and covered in open sores. She has recovered remarkably well. She used to just find a quiet corner somewhere and just sleep. Now she loves to play hour after hour, even when the others think it is nap time Cutie Pie just wants to carry on and on.

Henretta

Hennie came to us completely broken, but slowly but surely she is starting to come good. Hennie is both Blind and Deaf living on the streets when she got hit by a car and had her hip and leg broken, she also has Dementia. Over the last few months, she has allowed us to cuddle her and nuzzle her. We know she loves this because of the cute noises she makes.

Diva

Diva WAS the newest member of our ever-growing family. She was shot by a farmer and left to die. She managed to get help and WVS saved her life and treat her wounds. She still has a limp when she runs around and plays. She is a very playful young dog who loves nothing more than cuddling up with us or our other dogs. Extremely well behaved and as bright as a button.

Cosmo

Cosmo is an incredibly loving crazy larrikin... This is remarkable because he had spent all his life on the streets trying to survive. When he was rescued his coat was just one huge matted mess. He loves doing high fives and a crazy dance which makes everyone laugh. He is a bit of a loner but does tolerate the puppies even when they are jumping all over him.

Pancake

Pancake is a real sweetie, again another ex-street dog. She is slowly starting to trust people again, and it is fascinating watching her analyzing situations, and whether she should be part of a game, or should she join in on this hunt. The only time she is really herself and forgets all the past trauma in her life is when she plays with the puppies. That one brings a tear or two...

Titan

Titan was allowed to roam by his previous owner. One day he, unfortunately, got hit by a car. He suffered a double break to his back ad a broke leg. The ower then "dis-owned" him refusing to pay his medical costs. After 7 months he is now running around playing with his brothers and sisters. Super smart dog and loves a cuddle, only when no one is around.

Budda

Budda was a puppy farm rescue. When we got him & his brother Bubba they were about 6 weeks old and in very poor health. Bubba, unfortunately, died because of a blood infection. Budda had to have 2 eye surgeries because his eye sockets had not formed correctly. He is a very happy dog and this is his happy face. Gets on really well with everyone EXCEPT Cosmo, they both have a real thing for each other...

Cookie

Cookie is an amazing little character, The product of Bad Breeding Technique... His bones were underdeveloped and extremely soft. He wasn't allowed to move around for weeks and weeks. After lots of massages and supplements, he is just like any other Jack Russell except half the size. He is on another level when it comes to naughtiness and he still hasn't found his limit.

Bella

Bella was given up for adoption by her previous owner because for no reason she will start hyperventilating. She does now eventually stop herself, so we know if we do ever have to leave her for any amount of time she will be OK. When we are there, we simply pop her muzzle in our mouth and blow very gently and she stops immediately, just glad it's her and not Bruiser.

Buffy

Buffy & Caramel are the daughters of Cookie & Bella. "It only takes Once". Unfortunately, Bella came into heat and Cookie was really fast... :) By the time we got Bella's diaper on it was too late, and as a result, we have 2 incredible little bundles of happiness. These little guys are full-on wanting to play with everyone. Caramel has also formed a very strong bond with Hennie our Blind & Deaf Girl.

Jack

We had a phone call from a friend telling us that there were 3 little dogs running around, for about 3 weeks, that will not leave his house... Welcome Jack, Jill & Banjo

Jill

Jill arrived with both Jack and Banjo. We think Jack & Jill are brother and sister. Neither had been desexed. And Banjo we think maybe is related???

Banjo

When we went to Pick Up Jack, Jill & Banjo we found out that their owner simply moved house and left them all behind. Never telling anyone just left...
